Highland Park Golf League -
Session 1 - Wednesday, May 5th |
|
|
Spring is here and it
is time to start thinking about knocking the dust
off of the golf bag.
The Highland Park
golf league is a 9-hole social league open to all
Highland Park resident golfers of any ability. We
will be playing on Wednesday evenings again this
year at Bob-O-Links Golf Course. The league will
consist of 2 nine-week sessions this spring and
summer. The first session will start
Wednesday, May 5th and run to the last week
in June. The first tee time is around 5:30pm and we
will usually have 4-5 groups. There are no advance
parings. We simply pair up as people get to the
first tee. You are welcome to participate in one or
both of the sessions. Discounted 9 hole green fees
will be offered again this year and you must pay for
the 9 week sessions in advance! The fee this year
will be $121.50 and you will be given a league punch
card. You may pay your green fees at Bob-O-Link
Golf Course anytime after April 14th.
Bring the card with you each week and present it to
the starter at the first tee. He will sign you in
and punch your card for play. In the event you are
not able to play on a league Wednesday you will be
able to use the card for golf on any other day
should you decide to play on a non league day
(special events and tournaments excluded). There is
no expiration date on the cards.
There
will most likely be folks that head over to the
course over the next couple week to get in some
practice rounds. If you would like to participate
in the golf league this year please email Sean
Flaherty at flahertysean@yahoo.com. |

Highland Park Mailbox Repairs |
|
|
"You never get a second
chance to make a first impression." |
|
One of the first things
that people notice when they enter our development
is what a great looking neighborhood this is.
There are many factors that contribute to the beauty
of our development and one of the main things is the
look and upkeep of the mailboxes. It sounds
silly but the mailboxes make a dramatic statement
about the type of neighborhood that we live in and
the overall appearance of the neighborhood can have
an impact on property values. Did you know
that the Highland Park Code of Regulations mandates
that all mailboxes be of uniform size, shape and
color? Did you know that the current
replacement cost of the mailbox post and structure
can run upwards of $400.00 and does not include
installation?
Please do your part to paint a positive image of
this development by painting your mailbox and post.
Here are the names
of some of the local paint stores for your
convenience.

City of
Avon Parking Ban |
|
|
Avon City Council has
enacted a new parking ban. Vehicles are no
longer permitted to park on Avon city streets
between the hours of 2:00am - 6:00am daily.
Police can grant temporary parking permits but
residents must request a permit from the Avon Police
Department. Neighboring cities such as
Westlake, Avon Lake, North Ridgeville and Bay
Village all have the same parking restriction in
place. The new parking law is designed to help
police identify suspicious activities, allow
emergency vehicles better access and also enhance
the aesthetics of the city. Officers will be
issuing warnings during a 60 day grace period.
After the grace period expires formal citations will
be issued. |
