Recent Incidents of Vandalism - Neighborhood Watch Reminder

The Board of managers has been made aware of recent incidents of vandalism in our neighborhood and wanted to take the opportunity to remind homeowners to stay alert and apply the principals of the Neighborhood Watch Program.  Some of the recent issues involved damage to vehicles parked in driveways and also in the garage.  Please remember to lock your vehicles at night if you leave them parked outside and close your garage door when it is not necessary for it to be open.

For more information from the Highland Park Neighborhood Watch committee please click on the following link.  Neighborhood Watch

Highland Park Association Directory - 2008 Release?

The Highland Park Board of Managers has decided to extend the process of gathering resident contact information for publication in the next release of the Highland Park Association Directory.  Given the amount of new home additions, turnover over the last several months and a corrupt original source file, we are asking that all homeowners that are interested in having their contact information included in the next release of the directory complete an enrollment form.  Even if your contact information was included in the last directory release you must resubmit your information again.  Failure to submit your information will exclude you from the directory.  The preferred submission method is to utilize the online directory form.  If you are not able to use the online form there was a paper form distributed with the most recent newsletter.  If you registered this past spring/summer there is no need to register again.  For those residents with an Adelphia email address we will make the appropriate conversion to Road Runner for you.

City of Avon Parking Ban

Avon City Council has enacted a new parking ban.  Vehicles are no longer permitted to park on Avon city streets between the hours of 2:00am - 6:00am daily.  Police can grant temporary parking permits but residents must request a permit from the Avon Police Department.  Neighboring cities such as Westlake, Avon Lake, North Ridgeville and Bay Village all have the same parking restriction in place.  The new parking law is designed to help police identify suspicious activities, allow emergency vehicles better access and also enhance the aesthetics of the city.  Officers will be issuing warnings during a 60 day grace period.  After the grace period expires formal citations will be issued.

Highland Park Mailbox Repairs

"You never get a second chance to make a first impression."
One of the first things that people notice when they enter our development is what a great looking neighborhood this is.  There are many factors that contribute to the beauty of our development and one of the main things is the look and upkeep of the mailboxes.  It sounds silly but the mailboxes make a dramatic statement about the type of neighborhood that we live in and the overall appearance of the neighborhood can have an impact on property values.  Did you know that the Highland Park Code of Regulations mandates that all mailboxes be of uniform size, shape and color?  Did you know that the current replacement cost of the mailbox post and structure can run upwards of $300.00 and does not include installation?

Please do your part to paint a positive image of this development by painting your mailbox and post.

Here are the names of some of the local paint stores for your convenience.

Monthly Board of Managers Meetings

The next Board of Managers meeting will be April 22nd at 7:00 at the Clubhouse.  Please check back here later for any updates on the meeting information.

All Board of Manager meetings are open to homeowners.  The first 10-15 minutes of the meetings are dedicated to homeowners to bring issues or questions to the table.  If you would like to attend a meeting we ask that you contact a member of the Board of Managers in advance so that we may add your issue to the agenda and notify you in the event of any change in the meeting time or venue.
