October 21, 2009   HIGHLAND PARK BOARD OF MANAGERS MEETING

Meeting was called to order at 7:30

Attendees:  Dave Celznick, Bill Mazzolini, Jeanne Stark, Kevin Malinowski.

Homeowner issues: none present at this meeting.

Minutes from September 2009 meeting were approved.  Sent to Sean for website posting.

Thank You to Jeanne & Kevin for work on the Clubhouse rental usage

Thank You to Dave for his negotiation with delinquent homeowner

Thank you to Ed & Bill for meeting with Kaman & Cusimano

Thank you to Kathi for gathering information on the ditch, and working with the city.

Thank you to Bill for the orange lights up front on the Route 83 entrance.

Thank you to Jeanne for the assembling/coordination of the Fall Newsletter.

Issue 1:  The lights on the carriage house at the Route 83 entrance need to be repaired or bulbs replaced.

Issue 2:  Reviewed our contact methods and request for point person at Kaman & Cusimano.  No one person will be an expert on all matters so they really don’t want to elect a specific point person. However, Darcy indicated she could be our first point of contact.  General review of the email policy and charges associated with it.

Issue 3: Nature Park matters – we will be getting a Park Closes at Dusk sign; Ed not in the meeting so further discussions were put on hold.  Also, Bill obtained indications from Brunner Landscaping regarding some uneven ground in the Nature Park and if rolling it out would help.  Per Brunner, rolling it out would not make a difference.   The only way to make a difference would be to roll it out, bring in topsoil, seed it and irrigate it.  The expenditures do not warrant the results.  Board voted 4-0 to do nothing further at this time.   Also, tetherball will have to be taken down for the winter. Jeanne will take care of taking it down and will store in Clubhouse/pool room.  Will take it down 11/1/09.

Issue 4:  Criss/cross directory – Jeanne will take it over from Kevin to complete and roll out.

Issue 5:  Clubhouse usage for the last three years has been consolidated comparing Paid events with Pro Bono events.   The expenses to maintain the clubhouse greatly exceed the revenue coming in.     The Board will discuss in the next meeting in further detail since not all Board members were present.  Our goal is to come up with some compromises and solutions for next year.
